Faithful Attendee Dies
Bro. Alvin Christian went to be with the Lord sometime between Dec.1st. and Dec. 5th of this year. Roxanne and I had been picking him up and taking him home each service for several weeks before his passing. We were awaiting his phone call on Sunday morning, Dec.5th, that never came, so we decided to go to his trailer to pick him up if perhaps his phone had stopped working. As I knocked on his door, a neighbor came and said that they had not seen him for a few days and that he had gone out to walk to town. Being that it was approaching service time, we went on toward our building where I had Roxanne call our local sheriffs office to report Bro. Alvin missing. Later that afternoon, the detective in charge called us back and told us that he had found Bro. Al’s body inside his trailer. Bro. Alvin never would join with us by scriptural baptism but hardily confessed that he was a true believer in the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior. He came from a Pentecostal background and all of his relatives are Pentecostals as well. The detective informed his relatives, and they took care of burial details. Bro. Alvin was finally interred in the Ft. Gibson National Cemetery in Ft. Gibson, Ok., with military honors. Bro. Al had come to believe in the doctrines of God’s sovereign grace in salvation and was faithful in his attendance to our services.
Two Visitors
We had two visitors during the month of December. Zailin, Jose Bautista’ s grandson, came for the second time to attend our Sunday School, and a young man came in during the preaching, stayed for about five minutes, and then abruptly walked out. We have not seen him smce .
Latino Outreach
I know that listing Latino names is probably difficult reading for you all but these names represent lost people who have never heard anything but a false gospel. We try to reach them with a statement of the true gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ hoping that our testimony might provoke someone among them to desire to know more about salvation by grace through repentance and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. We dealt with three Mexican ladies, Perla, Elizabeth Soto, and Diana Flores. Additionally we worked with four Latino men, Luis Fernando, Alejandro Ramirez, Darwin Julian, and Ignacio Bautista.
Personal Note
My younger sister and her new husband dropped in to visit a short time with us, and I reached my 75th birthday on the 22nd of December. Thank your for your prayers and support!
By His grace and in loving gratitude,
Tim and Roxanne Parrow
