Dear Pastor and Brethren:
Increased Latino Contact
Our busy month began with an increase in our contact with Latino people. The following names represent people with whom we have tried to be an influence for the Lord’s sake as we communicated and worked with them: Arturo Hernandez, Juan Carlos Gonzalez Camacho, Hugo Adalverto Gomez, Elizabeth Soto, Alejandro Ramirez, Sami and Magdalena Ramos, Edgar Hernandez, Limatur Silvano, Georgina Garcia, Balan Dimas, Salomon and Raquel Cardenas, and Jose Bautista Sanchez. Of these fourteen Latinos, three are from other countries such as Guatemala and Nicaragua, one has fled from the police back to Mexico, one is homeless and living in his pickup, one is here under asylum laws, and the rest are all living and working here illegally. This is a mission field, to say the least, right here within the borders of our state. Only one of these comes regularly to our mission services bringing his Mexican-American children and grandson with him from time to time. I don’t know if this increase is due to the great flood of illegal people entering our southern border or not, but if it is, we will have our work cut out for us to try to reach them with the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. What a need and what an opportunity! Please pray for Roxanne and me as we try to reach them in our limited way.
Other Activities
This month we have seen two weddings in our family. My younger sister Lois married an American Baptist Association missionary to the Navajo Indians in western New Mexico and my granddaughter married here in Oklahoma City. Our son Nathan and his wife, Amber, and son Levi attended one of our services during the Thanksgiving season. We had a nice Thanksgiving celebration on that day with nine of our family members present in our home, including the new grandson-in-law.
Bro. Dick and Sis. Connie Gaches
Bro. and Sis. Gaches are going through quite an ordeal in their lives as they struggle to gain mobility for Sis. Gaches since her extensive back surgery. Sis. Connie goes to rehab twice a week trying to gain strength and balance as she now is walking upright after gaining some four inches of height due to her surgery. She is making good progress and is determined to regain her strength and balance once again. Please remember them in your prayers for us.
Much Gratitude
Roxanne and I give our deepest feelings of gratitude to our Pastor, Bro. David Oldfield, and Calvary Independent Baptist Church, our home church, for their very generous love offering of $2000.00 for our mission fund. Thank you all so very much!
By His grace and in loving gratitude,
Tim & Roxanne Parrow
