Dear Pastor and Brethren:

Preaching Material

I have begun a new series of messages entitled, “Seven Promises of God the Father to God the Son to Aid Him in the Fulfillment of the Covenant of Redemption.” It seems like my sermon titles get longer and longer as I delve into these wonderful thoughts. Number one is the Father’s promise to provide a perfect human body and nature without sin for our Lord’s sojourn on the earth. Number two is the Father’s promise to send his Son the Holy Spirit in his fullness, without measure, which he did on the day of Jesus’ baptism by the authorized John the Baptist. Number three is the Father’s promise to support the Lord Jesus in the performance of his work, enabling him to destroy Satan’s dominion, establish the kingdom of God, establish his church, and raise him from the dead. Each of these promises is accompanied by several verses of Scripture that state these principles. It is a delightful study, and I will share the other four promises with you when the time comes.

Heat and Drought

The month of August has been the driest month along with the hottest month that we have personally experienced. We have had over forty days of temperatures over 100 degrees and most of those days with very little, if any rain. Our outside thermometer registered its highest temperature of 110 degrees. At eleven o’clock at night the temperature is often in the lower one-hundreds, the air being very slow to cool off. As you can imagine, we try to do any work that is considered outside work during the early morning hours.

Health Update

I have stopped taking amiodarone to control the AFib caused by my heart attacks. It has been about one month since I stopped taking it, the suggested amount of time my cardiologist has said that it takes for the amiodarone to vacate the human body.  I am beginning to feel much stronger now and don’t have to have Roxanne help me to get out of my recliner. Additionally, I am having less trouble with pre-syncope attacks and lightheadedness that used to make me tend to lose my balance walking. Up until now, my heart continues to beat at the proper sinus rhythm. It seems that I am coming out of the valley of the shadow of death slowly. However, I am quite guarded about saying I’m getting better because of the damage to my heart muscle and my age limitations. Thank you for your prayers about these matters!

By His love and grace,

Tim & Roxanne Parrow
