Dear Pastor and Brethren:

Good News From Tenerife, Spain

I made an audio call through Facebook Messenger with the help of Roxanne to Bro. Jose Manuel Garcia, the pastor of Bible Baptist Church, on March 19. He had been seriously sick from a infected appendix and had to have emergency surgery to get relief. I called him to see if I could encourage him in life and in the work of the ministry. He talked to me for about an hour and fifteen minutes in Spanish, of course, and I could barely get a word in edgewise. He has been conducting a Sunday service in the home of Sis. Encarna regularly after leaving the hospital and recuperating somewhat. Remember that they had to close the public presentation of the church there due to increasing rent and loss of members. Sis. Encarna is the only member left besides Bro. Jose and his wife, Luisa. Sis. Encarna is in her nineties and owns her own house. She invited Bro. Jose to have services in her home on the Lord’s Day. In addition to that, Bro. Jose Manuel is making an audio recording of these messages and sending them on to his relatives in southern Spain and Venezuela. Sis. Lusia said that they have thirteen families assembling and listening to Bro. Jose’s messages every Sunday. He has sent me two of his messages, and I have enjoyed them. He is preaching on I Corinthians, chapter seven, and doing a good job of it. Perhaps, Lord willing and blessing, Bro. Garcia may be able to establish a church in those areas where his relatives are meeting to hear the Gospel. What a blessing that would be! Please pray with us to those ends, and for the full recovery of Bro. Jose Manuel.

 Other Activities

We were blessed by the visit of the Bro. Bobby Wright family of Columbus, NE, who was traveling home from preaching in Broken Arrow, OK, for Bro. Daniel Chamberlin who fell from a ladder while pruning trees around his house. Please remember Bro. Chamberlin in prayer because he broke his arm and his back, having to have rods placed in his back and some thirty-three staples and other surgery to enable him to walk again. He is recovering but will have to wear a brace for nine months until all is healed.

Sis. Elaine MacGinnis in her nineties has quite coming to our services. We did not know it, but she had moved to live with some of her relatives in Edmond, OK. She had become blind from macular degeneration and had developed dementia. Sadly, she left without saying, “Goodbye,” and we will miss her. She attended faithfully until she began to suffer from those problems.

By His grace and in loving gratitude,

Tim & Roxanne Parrow
